SDOE Closed Four Businesses in Three Days

louketo-deko-660_2In the midst of the summer season in Greece, the Financial and Economic Crime Unit (S.D.O.E) conducted extensive spot checks all around the country. In four cases, the auditors discovered serious discrepancies and  shut down four businesses.
In particular, during the three-day period of August 16 to 18, SDOE imposed the closure of four businesses because they were not issuing receipts.
A nightclub in Agrinio, Aetolia-Acarnania, where the well-known Greek singer Ilias Vrettos sang, was sealed along with one more nightclub in Arta, Epirus. SDOE also decided to close for two days a bar on the island of Rhodes and a snack bar in Chania, Crete.
In its announcement, SDOE mentions that besides closing the businesses, administrative fees will also be imposed along with taxes and criminal penalties.
