Thessaloniki Gearing Up for the 78th TIF

F526C96C7B9E0FCB600039D41F78B93BThe 78th Thessaloniki International Fair is called to reflect, within a few days, the change of course of the national exhibition agency, after the recent consolidation of TIF S.A. and Helexpo S.A. into a single group.
As the chief executive of the Greek company Tasos Tzikas said, the 78th TIF will be the “dress rehearsal” for the development planning of the new company. Moreover, it is the first event which will be held after 14 years by the unified national exhibition agency.
When asked about the prime minister’s presence in the exhibition this year, Tzikas said, “The presence of the prime minister and the political leaders is an important dowry for the organization in Thessaloniki, which has been established for many decades now. The inauguration of the TIF by the country’s prime minister is very important and a great honor. In parallel, however, the Fair must regain its commercial and entertaining character, the character of a celebration in town, in the country and in the wider region of Southeast Europe and its operation should not be influenced by the current political and economic climate.”
According to information from AMNA, which has not yet officially been confirmed, the prime minister’s presence this year will be limited to the morning of September 7, at the opening of the Fair, and will last for a few hours. The final decisions concerning his contacts during his stay will be made at the end of August.
Meanwhile, despite the fact that TIF-Helexpo has prepared many impressive surprises for the dynamic regeneration of the institution, Tzikas revealed a series of co-operation, which will give a sense of change in this year’s event, as he said.
Among these is a beach volley tournament, with the participation of the national teams of men and women from Greece and another five countries, which will take place on the premises of the exhibition center, under the auspices of the Hellenic Volleyball Federation. Also, the cooperation with the National Theater of Northern Greece will fill the city with street performances, before and during the TIF. There will also be a series of events in the framework of the participation in the Patras Carnival.
The main axis of this year’s TIF, which will be held from September 7 to 15, is innovation, extroversion, technology and development. The objectives of this year’s Fair, is to highlight the Greek entrepreneurship, to showcase the Greek companies which emphasize on technology, innovation and extroversion, which withstand the crisis and continue dynamically. However, the main purpose is to restore the contact between the TIF and the city.
The presence of a foreign team or national participation by countries such as Australia, South Africa, Brazil, Taiwan and India and others is very important.
This year’s program includes 13 thematic units: Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Energy, Construction, Auto-motion, Greece and Entrepreneurship, Employment, e-politia, Kosmos, Farma, e-gaming, Moda Casa, Bookmarket, Physical Exercise, and a special theme, Exclusive Beauty.
