Sitia_city_Land_in_Crete_bThe 2nd Festival, Local Products: Nutritional and Curative Properties,  opens its doors and welcomes the audience in Sitia, Crete, from September 20 to 22.
The festival lays the groundwork for the promotion of the town of Sitia, located in the east of Agios Nikolaos and northeast of Ierapetra, in Lasithi, Crete, as a gastronomical destination for Greek and foreign visitors.
The aim of the festival is to support, advertise and promote the particular food products of the Municipality of Sitia and the rest of the regions that participate in the same project, which are Lasithi Plateau, Chios and the region of Troodos Mountains in Cyprus.
Visitors will have the chance to stroll around the local products exhibition and take part in tastings, as well as in other events, such as a debate on the effective promotion of local products in the domestic and international market, host  marketing experts from Greece and abroad, visit model places of production and packaging, as well as artistic happenings, traditional music and dance performances, photo and art exhibitions, demonstrations of the way wellness products are made, interactive musical and theater games for children.
The well-known chefs Dina Nikolaou and Alexandros Papandreou will reveal the secrets of the Cretan cuisine through creative suggestions of integrating local products in the modern way of cooking. At the same time, chef Yiannis Baxevanis will  introduce children to the magic world of gastronomy by assisting them to try their cooking abilities, combining local tastes.
Hotels and restaurants of the town of Sitia participate in the Festival with special prices and unique treats for guests.
