A 45-year-old male employee who had been working in the municipality of Hersonissos was found hanged at the archaeological site of Malia.
The police and an ambulance responded and the body was taken to the coroner for an autopsy authorities said.
According to reports, the man was found by an employee of the archaeological site along with local residents who immediately called the police.
At the same time, the local community of Moires was upset over the reported suicide of a man who turned a gun on himself. While no motives were given, suicides have been spiking in Greece since an economic crisis began more than four years ago.
