More than 60 Aftershocks in Central Greece

ethniqouark_greeceAfter the strong earthquake that struck on August 7 at 12:06 pm in Amphicleia, in the prefecture of Phocis, estimated at 5.3 Richter, a new seismic tremor of 4.7 Richter hit the same focal area in Amphicleia. Residents are in fear of entering their houses.
As the director of the Institute of Geodynamics, Konstantinos Makropoulos stated, more than 60 aftershocks have occurred until now, two of which are estimated to be more than a 4 Richter magnitude.
Serious damage was recorded at a house, while two builders got injured during the earthquake, as the scaffolding where they were standing moved and they fell on the ground.
According to the local media, the big earthquake caused landslides in the provincial network and cracks in many houses, mainly old ones, in villages of Northern Lokrida.
