Founded in 1904, Minerva is the oldest olive oil company in Greece. Since then it has developed into the largest exporter of Greek olive oil, ranking among the top food companies in Greece, with a workforce the company boasts has the most modern and advanced production facilities certified by the International Olive Oil Council.
Its exports reach 10% of its turnover, which is close to 100 million euros ($130 million) annually. The company employs approximately 200 employees and is cooperating with hundreds of olive growers and other farmers as well, over its products’ raw materials.
Minerva said it aims for a high quality of its products in a sustainable manner, with social awareness and respect for the environment. Minerva promotes good health via a balanced diet and actively supports the European platform over obesity prevention with special educational programs.
The company says its biggest selling point however is is the quality and flavor of its award-winning olive oils and that it’s doing well even during Greece’s crushing economic crisis.
