Stamos Plays Waiter For Oikos Yogurt

john stamos yoghurtThe actor John Stamos took on the role of a waiter in a series of commercials for Danon Oikos Yoghurts, which was filmed on July 22 in Los Angeles, but said he did it to honor his dad’s memory and Greekness.

In the commercial, Stamos appears wearing a bow tie and crisp freshly starched white shirt, as he offers two satisfied female customers some cups of the low-fat yogurt.

The 49-year-old was clearly excited by the day of shooting ahead and responded to a despondent fan on his social media feed: “Wait till you see commercial we shoot today!”

The fan in question had previously written: “Oikos lied to me. I thought if I ate their yogurt @JohnStamos would appear.”

She referred to a previous ad for Danon Oikos Yogurts, where the yogurt has the power to transform the next person you see into the sex symbol John Stamos for five seconds before the poor fellow, who underwent the transfiguration, returns to his normal everyday self.

Stamos explained in an Oikos promotional video that the low-fat treat has a special connection to his Greek roots and his late father Bill Stamos.

The actor explained: ‘My dad was a really proud Greek… and when they called and said, “You wanna do a yogurt commercial?” I was “meh” but then they said, “it’s Greek yogurt.”

‘I said, “Oh, my dad would be really proud of me if I did that.”’
