French President Francois Hollande and former Eurozone chief and current Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker have chosen the Ionian Greek island of Ithaca for their summer holidays, joining a long list of celebrities choosing to come to Greece during what looks to be a record tourist season.
Juncker was reportedly on Ithaca and was seen in the capital, Vathy, which has one of the world’s largest natural harbors. He had lunch at a restaurant by the sea accompanied by bodyguards.
Island officials gave him special treatment and the Vice Mayor of Ithaca Efstathios Kartanos welcomed him. Hollande visited Ithaca on his yacht and was seen at Skinos Bay.
