Greek-Australians’ Skyscraper Plans Scaled Down

art-tower-620x349The state government of Victoria has scaled down the skyscraper plans of two Greek-Australians because of flight path restrictions over Melbourne.

The Greek-Australian architect, Nonda Katsalidis, had initially received approval by state Planning Minister, Matthew Guy, in March to build Australia 108, the southern hemisphere’s highest residential structure, that surpassed Melbourne’s tallest, the nearby Eureka Tower.

However, air safety height restrictions forced the developers of South bank giant, the Australia 108 tower, to redesign it.

Moreover, Harry Stamoulis did not receive permission to proceed with his proposal at 555 Collins Street, which would have beaten the Gold Coast’s Q1, Australia’s tallest building, which soars to 323 meters.
