Two 30-year-old men, who according to the police are suspected of involvement in terrorist organization Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, were arrested in Thessaloniki on July 11 by the police Counter-terrorism Office.
The suspects were to be sent to Athens in order to be questioned over the group’s activities and attacks.
Those include the bombings in the car of the director of Korydallos prisons in Daphne , the car of a penitentiary employer in Argos, and a letter bomb sent to the former Director of Counterterrorism Office, and which was flashed and then neutralized with a controlled explosion at the distribution center of ELTA (post office) in Kryoneri, Attica.
That brought in the Counter-terrorism police to help co-ordinate the investigation in Thessaloniki and they said they found one of the group’s primary lairs.
Following the arrests there was a post on the website Indymedia which claimed that the responsibility for the envelope bomb was accepted by theInternational FAI military group Commando Mauricio Morales..
