Two Cops, Lawyer Charged With Trafficking

porni2_546_355Two policemen and a lawyer were arrested on charges of participating in a human trafficking network in Greece, among 10 people apprehended, police said.
The operation took place in nightclubs in Larissa, the capital and biggest city of the Thessaly region of Greece, and other towns in the regional unit of Larissa. The arrests were made by the Security Subdivision.
According to unofficialreports, the two policemen from Elassona (a town and a municipality in the Larissa regional unit), the lawyer from Larissa and the rest of the arrested (most of them nightclubs owners), were accused of organizing a criminal association with the aim of committing the offense trafficking.
On July 6, the suspects were due to be brought to a prosecutor while a number of women also rounded up among dozens said to be caught up in the ring were detained because their papers were incomplete and they were working unlawfully in the country even though they were forced to beyond their control.
It was reported that the uncovering of the illegal network occurred after a course of telephone surveillance of the members’ calls that lasted many months.
Probably, official announcements on the case will take place on Sunday July 7.
