Naxos Gets Austrian Rave Review

imagesAustria’s largest newspaper, Kronen Zeitung, commonly known as the Krone hosted a three-page tribute to the Greek island of Naxos entitled In the Traces of Zeus and Dionysus on the Island of Naxos.

The tribute mentions that in Naxos “the old Greece” has been preserved, with all its goods like the picturesque narrow streets to the steps that lead to Kastro, the medieval houses, until the dozens of little shops, and the taverns and restaurants.

The many-kilometers-long sandy beaches are also mentioned, as in Agios Prokopios and Agia Anna are also mentioned along with the typical Mediterranean cuisine that has not lost anything from its beauty as well as the night life. The writer finds that Gods were right and that “in Naxos there is everything that makes a Greek island”.

The Kronen Zeitung tribute as well as a correspondent article published at the Sunday paper of Kurier under the title Four Greek Islands Are Put To The Test depict the Austrian journalists’ impressions from their voyages around Cyclades. Austrian journalists, representatives of the most important Austrian newspapers, travel magazines and the Austrian public broadcaster in the framework of the delegation organized by the Austrian Office of the Hellenic Tourism Organization (EOT) in cooperation with the municipality of Naxos and two tourism organizations.

As Kurier stressed, “a common point between all the 27 islands of Cyclades and mainly Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos and Paros: dreamy beaches, crystal-clear sea, beautiful towns with the typical white and blue architecture and high accessibility by plane or ship”.
