Date Rape Drug Found in Greece

syrupNew generation drugs which have made their appearance in Greece targeting on women have spread fear. The date rape drug was located in Thessaloniki, where a 27-year-old man was arrested in possession of the drug.
During a police control, the man appeared to have a glass vial containing 80 grams of the liquid drug (GBL) and a small parcel of hashish weighing 0.4 grams.
The date rape drug is particularly popular in the U.S., Europe and Australia, while it is sold online as well.
This is a new sophisticated substance in liquid form, which causes memory loss and reduced resistance, which not only makes it easier for rapists to attack, but also helps them escape as it is very difficult to be traced through laboratory tests as it is excreted very quickly by the body.
The date rape drug belongs to new generation drugs that are very dangerous, such as sisha,  containing crystal methamphetamine known as “cocaine for the poor.”
Its base is the substance GHB and it can be mixed with other synthetic substances. The drug is colorless, odorless and therefore undetectable when dropped into a drink making unsuspecting women rape victims.
