SOCAR Starts Negotiations on Privatization of DEPA with Greek Government

depaSOCAR and Greek government have started the negotiations on privatization of Greek gas company DEPA, said President of SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev, APA-Economics reports.
To him, Azerbaijan is on the threshold of purchase of a large gas company: ‘All the issues have already been settled, tender packages had been opened and our specialists had today started the talks in Geneva’.
Abdullayev noted that, thanks to DEPA’s privatization, Azerbaijan will control the gas distribution market of one of the developed countries of Europe and have a chance to put its gas on sale in Greek market: ‘Azerbaijan is already known as a gas exporter. As a result of privatization, Greek gas market will be in our hands’.
