Greek Casino Says Rivals Cut Prices

casinoThe management of the Loutraki Casino filed a complaint to the European Commission against lower priced tickets offered by the casinos in Parnitha, Corfu and Thessaloniki, all in Greece, considering it to be unfair competition.
The European Commission declared to the Finance Ministry of Greece that the reduced priced tickets offered by the three casinos are a form of a government subsidy and as such has referred Greece to the European Court, asking for millions of euros to be returned, as reported in the Greek newspaper To Vima.
According to sources, the Ministry of Finance is currently negotiating with the Commission on the matter, which will burden the Greek budget in case of Greece’s conviction.
