Earthquake Shakes Athens

Earthquake
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.4 Richter, hit off the Attica province in Greece. The earthquake’s epicenter was located 27Km East from Athens.
According to the Euro-Med Seismological Center, the earthquake’s epicenter had a 10 kilometers depth. There have not been reported any damages or injuries.
Given that this area often gives earthquakes of such magnitude, the current one is considered as normal.
Greece, because of its location at the complex boundary zone in the eastern Mediterranean between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate, has been hit by notable earthquakes that have affected the country during recorded history. However, most quakes are of small magnitude and rarely cause severe damage or injuries.
