A new trailer has been released for “Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters,” the sequel to the Greek mythology tale, “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief.”
The film, which releases in theaters August 7, continues with the adventures of young demigod Percy Jackson as he goes on anĀ epic journey to fulfill his destiny. To save their world, Percy and his friends must find the fabled and magical Golden Fleece. Embarking on a treacherous odyssey into the uncharted waters of the Sea of Monsters (known to humans as the Bermuda Triangle), they battle terrifying creatures, an army of zombies, and the ultimate Evil.
Based on a series of books by Rick Riordan, Percy discovers as a teen that heĀ is the son of Greek god Poseidon. The first film,Ā “Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief,” was released in 2010. Logan Lerman reprises the role of Percy for “Sea of Monsters,” with Alexandra Daddario, Sean Bean, Jake Abel, and Brandon T. Jackson all returning as well. Stanley Tucci and Nathan Fillion are new additions to the cast, taking on the roles of Greek gods Dionysus and Hermes.
