LALIBELA Photo Exhibition at Athens Fringe Festival

lalibelaThe LALIBELA-Support Ethiopian Children Association is participating for the second time in the Athens Fringe Live with the inaugural photograph exhibition of the festival in the Vryssaki Art and Action venue on June 1 and 2.
Lalibela photographers have approached with their material this year’s festival theme of Old Town – New Town, with references to third world countries, such as Ethiopia, which is the main action area of the organization.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to see pictures of the holy city of Lalibela, the churches of which have been identified as UNESCO heritage sites. The idea of establishing and naming the organization LALIBELA was inspired from here.
All exhibited photos belong to members and godparents of Lalibela, who travel to Ethiopia at their own expense to meet the children and assist the work of the organization.
The LALIBELA-Support Ethiopian Children Association (www.lalibela.gr) is a Greek, humanitarian, nonprofit organization, founded in 1996 by Greek volunteers to provide food, shelter, clothing, education and medical coverage to orphans and destitute children of Ethiopia.
