South Aegean Region’s New Website

notioaigaioThe South Aegean Region will create a new website for foreign and Greek tourists that would like to visit the region. Through the website www.aegeanislands.gr, the demanding and sophisticated visitors of the Cyclades and the Dodecanese islands, even if they live on the other side of the planet, will be able to plan their trip in every detail, including what to see, where to stay, what to eat, ferry connections, as well as particular characteristics of every island.
With the slogan “The Aegean islands with the Deep Blue,” the South Aegean Region, through this innovative web portal, gives those interested the opportunity to be informed about every island.
Through pictures and maps, they will be able to find the exact paths to walk on, watch magical sunsets, find isolated beaches, archeological sites, traditional food, festivities, as well as water sports they can enjoy on each island.
This new website will be presented in the beginning of June and was created by the South Aegean Region, in cooperation with the University of Crete. The new website does not intend to replace municipality websites, but is a supplementary pioneering tool in Greece.
With this website, not a single tourist will be lost in the Cyclades and the Dodecanese islands, as one will be able to download maps through a cell phone or a portal computer in order to know at any time his exact location.
The season started with good prospects, as there has been intense mobility since the Easter holidays. The result remains to be seen at the end of the season.
