Kazantzakis Translated Into Japanese

kazantzakisThe works of Nikos Kazantzakis, Report to Greco and Alexis Zorbas, will be translated into  Japanese, as it was announced by the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis (ISFNK), which, on the occasion of the 25 years since its foundation, organized important events throughout the world.

The ISFNK will acquire an annex in Japan, while its newsletter will be published in Korean, Japanese and Chinese, in addition to the eight languages it is already published on a four-month basis.

In May, the Society organized events in South Korea, Japan and China, countries where the work of Nikos Kazantzakis is read by thousands of readers. Kazantzakis visited Japan and China in 1935 and in 1957 and loved their cultures, people and landscapes.

Also, in May 2014 the three countries will host conferences around the philosophy of Nikos Kazantzakis and his relationship to Buddhism, Taoism, Confucius and other thinkers of the Far East.

Events about the work of the Cretan author were also held in Armenia and Australia. Furthermore, professor Marta Silvia Dios Sanz, will give a seminar on the topic in Argentina, in an event co-organized by the local department of ISFNK).
