Hundreds of Viennese friends of Greece welcomed the famous Greek artist Giorgos Dimou with demonstrations of admiration, at the renowned music theater of Vienna, the Raimund Theatre, where he gave a stunning concert. Dimou has brought Greek music closer to the Austrian audience with his performances over the last five decades.
In the nearly three-hour concert, Dimou performed famous Greek hits of light and folk-popular music of several renowned artists, accompanied by the six-member-orchestra of Andrew Boutsikakis and by performers such as Giorgos Gerolimatos, Maria Kanelopoulou, Giannis Leferis and Maria Tsokani.
Accompanied by Maria Kanelopoulou, he performed a series of songs in their German adaptation, which are included in his last album.
Dimou addressed the audience, which consisted almost exclusively of Austrians, talking about his beloved two home countries – Greece and Austria. He also assured that, despite Greece’s economic difficulties that it will keep offering its natural beauty, its culture and hospitality.
