45,000 Turks in Kastellorizo …for Holidays

Kastelorizo_999_533_355-630x419The Turkish daily newspaper Vatan tried to describe the high interest of Turkish tourists to visit Kastellorizo in an article entitled “To the Greek island of the 400 habitants will go 45,000 Turks”. Of course, these 45,000 tourists expected in the island will not be only Turks, but also Russians, Ukrainians, Georgians, visitors from Kazakhstan and from the other countries of the Caucasus that are not members of the EU.
Last year, 15,000 visitors came to Kastellorizo. The non-European visitors in the previous years in order to enter Kastellorizo had to go to Izmir to take a visa from the Greek Consulate General there. But from this year on, after facilitations secured to Greece by EU, the visitor will be able to take their visa at their entrance to Kastellorizo.
