Mytaras' Language of Art

iglossatistexnisThe presentation of Dimitris Mytaras’ book With the Language of Art, was held on April 9, at the Eugenides Foundation. Mytaras is considered one of the most important contemporary Greek painters.
The presentation was launched by the Minister of Education Konstantinos Arvanitopoulos, who extended a greeting. In his speech, Arvanitopoulos, referred to Mytaras as “the enlightened teacher, author, intellectual who intervenes with public attitudes.” He continued stressing that “Dimitris Mytaras, beyond his artistic creation, will continue to teach us also through his consistent public speech.”
The book is a distillate of his long journey in the world of art and is based on lectures the famous artist has been giving, almost on a weekly-basis, informing students of the Athens School of Fine Arts on various topics concerning visual arts. After 15 years, all this experience and knowledge has become a book.
At the end of the presentation, Mytaras talked to the attendees passing his own message: “Nature says this: If you oppress someone, he will react violently and if he has to defend himself, then he will react even more violently. We should seriously think and find solutions. This is a political message.”
With the Language of Art is released by Eugenides Publications.
