An Aussie Tribute To Frangioudakis

FragioudakiWith a special distinction from the Government of Victoria, the well-known journalist and radio announcer and Greek journalist Rena Frangioudakis has been honored for her 40-year career that made her a household name.

She worked for stations SBS, 3XY, 2ZZ etc and the Greek newspapers NEA, Nea Patrida and Neos Kosmos and was awarded during a ceremony on International Women’s Day. Her name was put forward by Greek-Australian Jenny Mikakos MP, Shadow Minister for Seniors and Aging.

Mikakos said she was proud that Frangioudakis was recognized “as a recognition of her forty-five year significant contribution on the Media and the Greek community.”

Frangioudakis started working with 3XY Radio Hellas from the very first day it began operations and later once, the newspaper Ta Nea commenced, she joined the team of journalists in the latter part of 1995. In 2000, she also became involved with Channel 31, providing different reportages on various issues relating to events which were of importance to the Greek community.
