Crete Promotes Religious Tourism to Russians

On May 18, a mission of the Region of Crete is going to Moscow to participate in an exhibition. The Region of Crete has high expectations of Russia, from where 358,000 tourists landed at the N. Kazantzakis airport last year.
In the context of regional delegation’s contacts, meetings with representatives of the church of Russia will be made. Euripides Koukiadakis, the Regional Vice-Governor of Heraklion, said that Crete aims at the development of religious tourism, and estimated that it will appeal to Russian travelers.
