Liaskos to Promote Greek Tourism in Russia

Philoxenia_Liaskos_GG-MinisGreek Secretary General of Tourism (EOT) Anastasios Liaskos, is to pay an official visit to Russia to boost  this year’s tourist flow to Greece.

During his visit, Liaskos is expected to attend two large travel exhibitions, the International Travel Fair Intourmarket from March 16 to 21, as well as the leading exhibition MITT from March 21 to 23.

He is also scheduled to meet Russia’s government officials and major tourist operators. On March 16,  Liaskos will have a meeting with the Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation Alexander Rad΄kov, and on March 17, with Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, Evgeny Pisarevsky, gtp headlines reports.

Many Russians are buying second homes in Halkidiki in northern Greece, which happens to be one of the most favorite Greek beach destinations.
Moreover, Mount Athos seems to be a major attraction for Russians. Liaskos has also scheduled appearances at special themed events with the representative of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece and Secretary of the Synod office of pilgrimage tours (religious tourism) Archimandrite Spyridon Katramados. They will give joint interviews to the media to promote religious tourism.

Finally, on March 18, Liaskos will tour the Intourmarket fair and welcome Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to the Greek pavilion.
