Australia 108 is a proposed super tall skyscraper located in the South bank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria.When built, it will be 388 meters high, surpassing the Gold Coast’s Q1 and Melbourne’s Eureka Tower, and will therefore be the tallest building in the southern hemisphere.
It will have 108 floors, making it the only building in the southern hemisphere to have over 100 floors. Australia 108 will consist of 600 apartments, 288 hotel rooms, and will also feature a Sky deck with the most impressive view from the Star Bar.
The construction of Australia 108 has already been approved. It will have been completed by 2015, as long as some current technical problems are faced. Now 62-year-old architect Nondas Katsalidis has to face the objections of the Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle, who does not miss the opportunity to publicly express his objections to the project.
