Papandreou's Big Bucks Ivy League Tour

PapmanFormer Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, who resigned in November of 2011 after relentless protests, strikes and riots against austerity measures he imposed on the orders of international lenders, is going to continue his lucrative Ivy League lecture swing, moving from Harvard to Columbia, to give talks on the country and Europe’s continuing economic crisis.
According to the website NewsBeast.gr, Papandreou, who helped create the crisis, is now profiting even more from it as he will earn a reported $30,000 from giving seven lectures at Columbia during the spring semester. The title is Replanning Europe. The site said he has been characterized as a “money-making machine” as he is also on a speakers list for an American agency.
He is also going to get free housing. The former premier is also a sitting Member of the Greek Parliament at the same time he’s in the United States but it’s not been reported whether he is continuing to accept his salary and benefits as a lawmaker, which amount to another $13,400 a month.
