John Stamos guest starred on this week’s episode of “The New Normal.” The handsome Greek-American actor played a real estate agent named Bryce, who had everyone wondering whether he was straight or not.
Jane’s (Ellen Barkin) makeover gives her the confidence to want to hit on Bryce, but she’s not sure whether he’s interested in women. When two friends decide to host a dinner party to determine Bryce’s sexuality, as well as another new guy who sets off the “gaydar,” the truth is revealed.
In the episode, Stamos and Barkin make-out, and the actor told Zap2It, “I thought, I’m going to stick my tongue down Ellen’s throat because I want to elicit some sort of natural, weird, you know, surprise or fear or whatever she was going to show because it would have worked for her character…And the woman didn’t flinch.”
Ultimately, Bryce ends up being a straight man, but the episode tackles stereotypes that tend to go along with being gay.
“The New Normal” airs Tuesdays on NBC.
