A New Cultural Center and a Multi-Purpose Hall will be built by the Greek Community of Melbourne’s Box Hill. The facility is to be erected at 84-86 Carrington Rd, Box Hill and will incorporate the existing Community Centre.
It is expected to cost $3.3 million Australian dollars and a grant of $600,000 from the government in Victoria. That was obtained from the work of the President of the Greek Orthodox Community of Box Hill and Districts Pantelis Loupis, the Greek-Australian Minister of Multicultural Affairs in Victoria Nikos Kotsiras, Liberal Party politician Victoria Robert Clark and Speaker of the Federal Parliament, Anna Burke.
Apart from the Cultural Center, the new building will also include a hall for pre-school-age children, a hall for adults, four new classrooms and other spaces.
