Greek professors abroad are participating in an Intercultural and Migration Studies Center training seminar in Rethymo, Crete that is running from Jan. 7-18 under the title Greek Intercultural Primary and Secondary Education Abroad.
During their visit in Crete, the professors will get training in teaching Greek as a second language as well as history and culture courses. They are also going to visit archaeological and historical sites of Crete.
This year the seminar focuses on the electronic learning (e-learning), especially language and history teaching ways as the project targeting the design of a web-based electronic environment contributing to the distance learning .
This project aims also at complementing and enriching the conventional teaching way of the Greek language and history. The e-learning way of teaching is in a testing stage and is expected to be delivered in a completed form to the Ministry of Education by the end of 2013.
