As awards season approaches, and hot off the heels of his Oscar win for “The Descendants” last year, a new book highlights the career of talented Greek-American filmmaker Alexander Payne.
Leo Adam Biga‘s book, Alexander Payne: His Journey in Film – A Reporter’s Perspective 1998-2012, gathers the author’s more-than-10-year reporting on Payne and his films. The book delves into the filmmaker’s creative process, and is receiving acclaim from industry folks. Actress Laura Dern spoke about Payne and the published book, saying, “Alexander is a master. Many say the art of filmmaking comes from experience and grows with age and wisdom but, in truth, he was a master on day one of his first feature. Leo Biga has beautifully captured Alexander’s incredible journey in film for us all to savor.”
In covering Payne’s work, Biga, an Omaha native, has been on-set for films like “Nebraska” and “Sideways,” and has conducted exclusive interviews with the director.
Payne recently wrapped up shooting his latest project, “Nebraska,” which is scheduled to hit theaters sometime next year.
