Logos Honors Greek Grand Guru Amanatides

amanatidouThe literary magazine Logos, published by the Hellenic Writers Association of Australia, produced a tribute to Kyriakos Amanatides, in recognition of his longstanding contribution to Greek letters and culture. Amanatides comes from Northern Greece. He migrated to Australia in 1958, and lives with his family in Melbourne.

Among its 230 pages, Logos contains valuable members’ and friends’ of literature collaborations, throughout the world where Greeks live.

The President of the Association, Thimios Haralambopoulos, said that, “This was an important year for the Association as well as for Logos magazine given that they both completed 20 years of life and creative activity, without fanfare, as expected from a literary and spiritual association.  During all these years of hard work, the Association managed to achieve its founders’ goals.”

As for Amanatides he said that “A modest and humble man deposits ethics, diligence and reflections. You rarely encounter such characters who don’t put any rules so as to keep away from the rest, ordinary people…” Amanatides has served as Secretary of the Committee in Support of Human Rights for the Greeks of Northern Epirus, a member of the Panepirotic Federation of Australia.
