In an open letter, Greek students living in various cities of Germany, say that they know firsthand what racist violence and Nazism means and express their rage about Golden Dawn’s attacks against immigrants, workers and students in Greece.
The website www.mathites.gr published this open letter written by students around Germany, Frankfurt, Cologne, Bohum, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf and Gutersloh.
“You should know that every time the Nazis of Golden Dawn in Greece chase immigrants and shoot students who struggle for their rights, it causes attacks by equivalent fascist organizations in Germany to us and our parents in the same way or worse.”
The rise of Greece’s far-right Golden Dawn party has led to a spate of vicious attacks against immigrants. Most incidents are not known because immigrants do not notify authorities as they are afraid for their lives or don’t have legal documents or lack the funds to pay for a lawsuit.
