Within the framework of a special program launched for the Greek diaspora that is to be inaugurated in May, the Organization for the Tourism Development of the region around Mt. Athos offers for summer 2013, “Vacation back home”, at preferential prices.
This program is based on attractive prices offered by hotels and other businesses, which are exclusively targeted to Greek immigrants.
In the Organization’s statement it is stressed that: “This initiative will strengthen the relations of the region with Greeks abroad and will boost the local economy. Furthermore, it will highlight the region during summer holidays as well as it will promote pilgrimage tours within and outside Athonite “.
Cheap holiday packages will be sent within the next few days to all immigrant associations with which the Organization is in contact, so that all immigrants are informed of this initiative.
