Sofia Hosts New Acropolis Museum Photo Exhibition

A photo exhibition on the New Acropolis Museum will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Center of the Greek Cultural Institution in the Bulgarian capital is going to host the exhibition which starts on Dec. 4, 2012 and ends on Feb. 28, 2013.

The exhibition presents the Sacred Rock of the Acropolis, the site where the New Museum has been erected, the exterior of the building and the archeological findings that were excavated during its construction, as well as the interior spaces where masterpieces of Greek art are hosted: the Room of the Acropolis slopes, the Room of the Archaic sculpture and the Parthenon Room.

During the exhibition, there will be a daily screening of a short film in regard to the New Acropolis Museum, which was designed by Swiss architect Bernard Tschumi and his Greek colleague Michalis Fotiadis.

The exhibition is organized by the Acropolis Museum as well as by the Committee for the Conservation of the Acropolis Monuments (ESMA), under the aegis of the Greek Embassy in Sofia.
