Nuremberg Gives Fire Trucks to Kavala, Thasos

The German city of Nuremberg donated two fire trucks and a special vehicle for gaining external access to fire, to the city of Kavala as well as the island of Thasos.

The contribution was initiated by the Greek-German Association Philos. Two of the vehicles are expected in Kavala on Nov. 13. The fire truck destined to Thassos is probably expected on December due to some bureaucratic obstacles.

The consignment ceremony was held in the 4th Fire Department’s building in Nuremberg harbor. The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the city, Korst Forther, Mrs Aliki Alesik, municipal councilor of Nuremberg originating from Greece as well as the Vice President of the Greek Community in Nuremberg , Dionysis Konstantatos.
