Karalis Looks at Greek Movies for Sydney Festival

Vrasidas Karalis’ A History of Greek Cinema, the first full-length book on the topic written in English by an Australian academic, combines historical analysis with discussion of cinematic form to construct a narrative history of Greek cinematic successes and failures.

On Oct. 13 at the 19th Annual Greek Film Festival, Vrasidas will give insights into contemporary Greek Cinema and the exciting and innovative trends emerging from a nation that has been in the news for all the wrong reasons the past few years, its crushing economic crisis and social unrest.

Topics include: History and evolution of Greek Cinema, Contemporary Greek Directors and Films, Cinema of Crisis
