Journalist Ioannis Deloglou Passes Away

Journalist and close associate of the Greek Opinion newspaper in Germany, Ioannis Deloglou passed away at the age of 65 after battling with cancer.

Deloglou was born in 1947 in Nea Zichni of Serres, Greece, to refugee parents from Pontos. He migrated to Germany in the 60’s and lived ever since in the city of Stuttgart with his wife Stella and their three daughters. He contributed to groups and organizations of the Greek community in Germany, either as founding member, president, secretary or a simple member. He also served as a correspondent of EIR (National Radio Foundation of Greece) now called ERT, while he supported the Panhellenic Union of Journalists.

Deloglou was awarded many times for his valuable contribution to the Greek Diaspora as a writer and journalist by both Diaspora organizations and unions as well as the Greek Orthodox Church of Germany.
