‘The Inbetweeners’ Portrays Malia as Sexy Party Town

Based on the television show that initially aired in Britain (with an American version now on MTV), a big screen release of “The Inbetweeners” is out in U.S. theaters this week.

The plot for the teen sex-comedy in the vain of “Porky’s” and “American Pie,” revolves around four high school seniors who decide to go on a trip to Malia, Crete in search of fun, booze and getting some action. The boys encounter all sorts of experiences, including hooking up with older women, skinny dipping, drunken nights and other unrepeatable acts. Co-writer Iain Morris told Entertainment Weekly in an interview that the script was partially inspired by his own trip to Greece with some friends.

Malia is described as one of the “wildest resort” towns where mostly British tourists go to party and have a good time. Boston.com’s recent review of the film went by the title “‘The Inbetweeners Movie’: As if Greece didn’t have enough problems.”
