Demetrios Archbishop of America made an extensive reference to the strong relations binding the Greek Diaspora of the USA to the Ecumenical Patriarch during a mass officiated by the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in the historic Cathedral of John the Baptist in Kserokrini, Bosphorus.
Archbishop Demetrios talked of the ethos of His All Holiness Bartholomew and pledged to continue the efforts of the Diaspora toward helping the Patriarchate gain the full freedom to carry out its mission for the Orthodox community.
The President of the Kserokrini community, Olga Aliberti, also commented on the Patriarch’s visit to the historic community that once hosted the Great School of the Nation, the oldest surviving and most prestigious Greek Orthodox School in Istanbul.
