Greek Cookbook Offers Taste of Ionian Islands

It’s no secret that the Mediterranean diet is considered one of the healthiest in the world, and that Greece has one of the most tasteful and flavorful cuisines for food lovers to enjoy. A recently published cookbook, Prospero’s Kitchen: Island Cooking of Greece, takes a new spin on Greek food, with over 150 recipes from the Ionian islands, including Corfu, Kefalonia and Zakynthos. From mezze, such as stuffed artichokes, to main courses like Kythera-style fish as well as desserts and sweets, the cookbook utilizes recipes from families that were handed down through generations. There are also photos and customs included from the Ionian islands as part of a full cultural experience.

The cookbook comes from Diana Farr Louis, author of Feasting and Fasting in Crete, and June Marinos, author of An Odyssey into Greek Cooking, A Taste of Crete, and A Taste of the Cyclades. For orders through the publisher’s website – www.ibtauris.com – a 30% discount is being offered by using the code 7HX.
