John Stamos Begins Run as ‘Best Man’ on Broadway

John Stamos has hit the Great White Way once again in the dramatic play “The Best Man” at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater. The Greek-American actor took over the role of Senator Joseph Cantwell on July 10 in Gore Vidal’s Tony nominated play. The story revolves around two political candidates both vying for their party’s presidential nomination, as each one faces a struggle between trying to crush their opponent or win the race with a clean fight.

Stamos previously starred on Broadway in “Bye Bye Birdie,” “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Cabaret,” and “Nine.” He starred in the musical “Hairspray” at the Hollywood Bowl, and is also known for his roles in television and film, most notably as Uncle Jesse on “Full House.”

Performances for “The Best Man” are scheduled Tuesday-Sunday, with matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The play is expected to run through September 9. For information on tickets: Box Office/Tele-charge: (212) 239-6200, (800) 432-7250.
