Patriarch of Alexandia and All Africa Theodoros II to Visit Crete

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa is expected to pay a visit to the Arkalochori of Crete on July 3-4, 2012. He is deeply attached to that particular village on Crete, as he spent his whole childhood there and went to the local high school.
The Patriarch will visit Arkalochori having accepted the invitation of the Metropolis of Arkalochori, Kastellion and Viannou, in light of the coming Feast day of the Metropolitan Church of St Andrew from Jerusalem and will hold the festive vesper service  on Tuesday July 3 as well as the archiepiscopal liturgy on Wednesday July 4.
During his visit, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodoros II will be declared an honorary citizen of Minoa Pediada, after a unanimous decision of the municipal authorities in Pediada. The special ceremony will take place on Wednesday noon in the City Council meeting hall in Arkalochori.
Deputy Administrative Reform Minister Manousos Voloudakis will visit Crete to welcome Patriarch Theodoros on behalf of the Greek government.
