The electronic crime unit of the Greek police have accused a 13-year-old boy of being a member of the “Greek Hacking Scene,” the self-named representatives of Anonymous in Greece.
The Greek Hacking Scene has allegedly been involved in a large number of web invasions, including the official website of the Greek Ministry of Justice. The newspaper To Vima reported that a six-month investigation by the electronic crime unit into electronic invasions of sites in Greece and abroad revealed the identities of six hackers from the notorious hacktivist group.
According to E Hacking News, Greek Hacking Scene suspects are believed to have committed a number of digital attacks against the Ministry of Justice; the Athens Urban Transport Organisation; Greek banks PROTON Bank, Piraeus Bank, and Bank of Greece; and the Greek Parliament.
The youngest suspect is just 13-years-old. Police found and confiscated a laptop and hard-drives from his home and sent them for laboratory tests. However, the youngster was not arrested.
During the February hacking attack against the Ministry of Justice, hackers warned “that for every article of the shameful austerity bill that will be passed, Anonymous will shut down a tax office system and delete the registered debts of citizens.”
