Troika Returns to Greece on Monday, says President of the Eurogroup J.C. Juncker

Officials of the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank and the European Commission are expected to visit Athens on Monday June 25th to discuss the possibility of a bailout reform, according to President of the Eurogroup Jean-Claude Juncker.
Greece secured a 130-billion-euro bailout from the eurozone and the IMF in February, but after Greek elections held in the country twice, on May 6th and June 17th, voters demonstrated that they demand a bailout fund expansion.
“We expect the new government to invite the (EU/IMF) troika to Athens next Monday because we do think they are in an urgent situation and all the procedures need to be speeded up,” stated Juncker at a press conference.
Troika’s goal will be to adjust the lending programme. On the other hand, Head of the IMF Christine Lagarde insists on her position and so she has not suggested to renegotiate the memorandum with Greece. “European finance ministers have different views on a memorandum reform and thus, nothing seems certain,” comments Lagarde.
