Everclear is heading to the U.S. this month as part of the Summerland Tour 2012. The event features rock/alternative-style music with other well-known acts like Sugar Ray, Lit, Gin Blossoms, and Marcy Playground – all bands that first hit it big in the 1990s.
At the same time, Everclear is also releasing a long-awaited new album at the end of June, entitled Invisible Stars. The band’s lead singer, Greek-American Art Alexakis, recently gave an interview to Fuse, explaining why it took six years for them to create new songs. He mentioned that he “didn’t write for a few years. I went through a lot of stuff. Our last record came out in 2006…I just took a break. My mom had died, I had gone through some financial issues, divorces, stuff like that. And I just didn’t feel like writing songs.”
The Summerland Tour begins its U.S. dates June 28 in Saratoga, CA, then heads to the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on June 29 before moving across the country. For the full schedule, check out Everclear’s website: http://www.everclearonline.com/
