Underaged Thief in Xanthi Robs 13 Stores in 19 Days

Five days a week, accruing a salary of 15.50 euros and receiving stolen motorbikes to boot.  No, this is not Troika’s suggested salaries for Greeks but how a 17-year-old boy lived for 19 days in Xanthi, a province in northern Greece.
Working a full-time week with a night-shift, having off during weekends, the minor broke into 13 stores in a period of less than 20 days and stole three motorbikes as well.
Almost every night, he broke the windows of the stores in Xanthi with a stone, made a stash, and escaped on his stolen motobike.  In total, he stole 935 euros in cash  and nutritional supplements amounting to  almost 1,500 euros. After completing his crimes, he made his get-away on his stolen motorbikes.
That’s what tipped off  the local police–one of the stolen motos. He was arrested immediately and the underage burglar showed them where the rest of his loot was.  With only15.50 euros remaining, it seems clear that the young man had already spent the spoils.
