Greek Communists Head Sues Facebook and Twitter

The Greek Communists General Secretary, Aleka Papariga, appears to be suing social networks Facebook and Twitter due to fake profiles running on the two famous websites.
People working for their websites have received several letters of complaints, whether sent by Papariga or other members of the Greek Communists Party.
They decided to seek justice in the country’s courts, because, as they claim, decades of fake profiles of Papariga and KKE party are still active on both websites.
“KKE, in order to face slander and provocation and put an end in this fraud or trap, apart from the accusation, is determined to seek for further justice,” states clearly the party’s official press release in regards to the proceedings.
Papariga made clear, however, that she does not blame the followers or friends of hers or the party on those social media sites because they cannot be aware whether these profiles are official or not. “But both websites should check their users’ identity before permitting the creation of the accounts. At least, they should do this especially after our ongoing complaints.”
Many famous people have sent several press releases or have made clear through interviews that they do not run most of their profiles on these websites, but they have never sued the social networks.
