Right-wing LAOS Will Run Independently in June 17 Elections

The former Parliamentary group of right-wing LAOS (Popular Orthodox Rally) unanimously has decided to run independently in the next elections planned for June 17.
Today, the party members met under their President Giorgos Karatzaferis and decided not to run with other parties in the next elections.
The official announcement included, among others, “Mr. Samaras’s proposal was regarded as pretext, since a LAOS members affiliation effort was secretly going on in exchange for personal benefits…”
Former LAOS MP Thanasis Plevris requested that the party run jointly with ND, accepting Samaras’s proposal for a united right-center front and noted that if his party denies that, he will act as he regards appropriate.
His father, however, Konstantinos Plevris stands by Giorgos Karatzaferis and expresses his support for LAOS, underlying that he will fight for it with all his strength, the LAOS press office announced.
K. Plevris also condemns “everyone with no exception that left the Popular Orthodox Party.”
